PRESS For “A Carpetbagger’s Ode to Rocky”

Out Oct 20th

ABOUT

Ruby Rose Fox, the soulful and daring rock 'n' roll vocalist with a trail of awards behind her, is back with another unexpected project. After stunning audiences with two full-length albums and three one-woman multimedia shows, Ruby is releasing her third album, “Carpetbaggers.” After expanding her signature hard-hitting soulful sound into pop fiction, teaming up with Chicago and Nashville-based producer, Colin Sipos, the two are at it again with their next single, "A Carpetbagger's Ode To Rocky."

Despite her reputation for "arty, edgy rock 'n' roll that transports listeners to another world" [Boston Herald], Ruby's new music draws inspiration from cinematic singer-songwriters like Andy Shauf and pop icon Annie Lennox.

Ruby's career began as a theatrical actress, and when transitioning to songwriting, quickly picked up 10 Boston area music awards, two placements in the game Rockband, and began a trail of fully produced one-woman shows which incorporated her music and deeply moving and sometimes political storytelling. Ruby has toured solo and with legends such as Martha Davis from the 80s pop legend Martha David and The Motels.

Ruby is also making waves with her latest project, MuscleMusic, which takes her deeply political music into action. In 2022, she launched a groundbreaking mental health app and nervous system regulation gym designed specifically for artists, offering trauma-informed support and education to over 500 artists worldwide. She consults with institutions such as Yale, Emerson, Brandeis, Northeastern, and Boston Conservatory.
